Travel light with our cabin suitcases
Flexible cabin baggage is perfect for travelling light while offering great flexibility. The hard-wearing fabrics of our cabin suitcases are perfect for tight spaces, while their many pockets make them easy to organise. Lightweight and practical, cabin baggage is ideal for short stays, making it easy to transport and optimising storage on trains and planes.
What are the standard dimensions of a cabin bag?
Dimensions vary from airline to airline but the most common size has a maximum height of 55cm. Carry-on luggage means you don't have to check in the hold when you arrive at the airport. However, always check with your airline to find out what dimensions are accepted on board and whether cabin size is included in the price of your ticket.
How are our carry-on suitcases measured?
To avoid unpleasant surprises, the dimensions shown on the product data sheets include the external components, i.e. the wheels and handles.
Which size of cabin baggage should I choose?
You can opt for several options: the 2-wheel mini-cabin, the classic 4-wheel cabin, the pilot case, the folding 2-wheel cab, the wheeled rucksack.
- 2-wheel mini-cabin: The mini cabin is even smaller than the traditional cabin, and has the particular advantage of sliding under the seat of certain airlines such as easyJet. This format is therefore included in the ticket, so there's no need to pay extra for baggage! This case is also very practical, as it can be folded and stored in its case to take up as little space as possible in your home.
- Classic 4-wheel cabin: The classic 4-wheel cabin is the standard format generally accepted when travelling by train, for example. This case has 4 multi-directional wheels, a zipped front pocket and is lightweight! You can find this format in nylon twill for the iconic Plume range and in rubber-effect polyurethane for the urban Lost In Berlin collection.
- Pilot case: The pilot case is used more in the business world, as it is generally used on business trips to carry a change of clothes and your documents. It is available in 4-wheel and 2-wheel formats.
- Foldable 2-wheeled cabin: The foldable 2-wheeled cabin is part of our atypical Foldable Plume collection: a range that folds into a cover to slip into your wardrobe or under the bed, saving you space!
- Wheeled backpack: The wheeled backpack is ideal for those who want to carry their luggage on two wheels: carry it on their back or simply slip it on!
What accessories are essential for a cabin bag?
To make the most of your trip, think about transparent protective covers, toiletry bags and luggage organisers to separate your underwear from your T-shirts, for example.
How do I maintain and clean my Lipault cabin bag?
For the exterior, use our cleaning product or a damp cloth with soap. For the inside of your product, a cloth or hoover is all you need to remove dust or sand, for example. We also recommend that you check the wheels and handle regularly to ensure that they work properly when you're on the move.
How can I extend the life of my hand luggage?
Store it in a dry place and avoid overloading it. Also use a protective cover.
What can cabin baggage contain?
It all depends on the format you choose: mini-cabin, original cabin size, pilot case, etc. But, in general, your baggage should contain the essentials for a short journey:
- Clothes and accessories: underwear, socks, pyjamas, shoes, 2-3 outfits suitable for travelling, accessories
- Toiletries
- Electronic products: telephone, charger, external battery, computer, tablet, etc.
What are the other sizes if I want to travel for longer?
We have a range of sizes to suit all travel styles, but you can opt for our medium-stay, long-stay or XXL luggage. Medium-stay luggage is ideal for trips of 1 to 2 weeks. Long-stay luggage for trips of more than 2 weeks, and the XXL size will be very useful for family holidays or if you're going abroad for several months.
